Our LLGI Youth mentoring girls and the Lady Bulldogs basketball team took an enrichment trip to Louisville and competed in the 28th Annual Battle of the Bridges. We were the only team not from Indiana or Kentucky to compete in the event. The youth brought incredible passion and tenacity to the basketball court. Even in a packed gym and facing tough adversity, the girls played their hearts out from the very beginning, winning the tournament with a 3-1 record. They redeemed themselves in the chip by beating the team that beat them in pool play.
This season, they learned valuable life lessons that will stay with them forever. Great season with a 15-3 record reaching every championship game except their first tournament. We all are proud of you. Let’s keep working over the summer on your craft and get ready to go hard in the classroom and back on your high school team.
Special thanks to: Lovely and Bella for coaching their peers over the weekend and demonstrating exemplary leadership.
A huge thank you to LLGI, mentors, coaches, and all of our incredible parents and grandparents for your support and for believing in this mentoring program and team.
