Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries, Inc., Partners with The City of Springfield’s AmeriCorps Team in Sangamon County and County Market in Chatham to celebrate our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship on Earth Day, April 22nd.
Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries, Inc. proudly announces its significant participation in Earth Day celebrations, showcasing a strong commitment to community service and environmental preservation.
Our Youth Services Group, under the direction of Dr. Ikenna Martin and Dr. Faraji Martin, will partner with the City and the AmeriCorps team to further extend our impact on Earth Day. Our youth will distribute food donated from Goodwill employees and the Central Illinois Food Bank to micro-pantries across Springfield and Sangamon County, providing essential resources to those in need.
In addition, we have partnered with County Market in Chatham and Dell Reconnect to provide a Goodwill Truck to pick up recyclable items on Earth Day such as electronics, monitors, computers, clothing, kitchen items, etc. Click here for the entire list. The truck will be available Tuesday, April 22nd from 10am – 3pm for collections in the County Market Parking Lot in Chatham.
“We are immensely proud of our employees and youth volunteers for their commitment and contributions on Earth Day,” said Ron Culves, President & CEO of Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries, Inc. “Their dedication to service and environmental stewardship truly embodies the spirit of our organization. These partnerships will support local food initiatives and make a tangible difference in the lives of others and the health of our planet. Recycle. Reuse. Repurpose. Last year, Land of Lincoln Goodwill diverted over 13 million pounds of material away from landfills.”
